Administration & Maintenance Facility
The Housing Authority of Glasgow manages both public housing units and Section 8 properties for Barren County. Staffs operate separately but share facilities. Their programs required 7,000 s.f., including offices, conference, staff services spaces, resident training area, and secure storage for records. The Director and Staff played a significant role as part of the team to develop the program and were regularly involved in design reviews during the process. Construction was completed with changes of less than 1%, mostly from Owner requests for scope revisions.
The Owners have said that the facility is unique for Housing Authority offices, because it breaks away from the stereotype government project office pattern, and instead creates a friendly and inviting office space of high quality space planning and design, all the while paying attention to the budget.
