Copper & Kings Distillery Pavilion

G Scott & Associates, Architects is excited to announce that the Courtyard Pavilion at Copper & Kings Distillery in

Louisville was recently recognized with a 2020 Excellence in Design Award from American Buildings/Nucor.

                We would like to thank Copper & Kings Distillery for inviting us to be their Architect for this award

winning project.  Located in the historic Butchertown neighborhood of Louisville, the project includes a pre-

engineered steel frame appropriate for the historic industrial neighborhood.  The asymmetrical steel structure

dynamically frames the courtyard space and is clad with wood to provide an inviting tactile experience.  The open

slat walls provide natural light and cross ventilation while also screening views of adjacent industrial sites.

We would also like to thank the team at Cardinal Services for submitting the completed project for the award. 

Andrew Mueller and his team were key to coordinating the construction in an existing entry courtyard while

maintaining access to the Distillery for employees, deliveries, and tours.

               

Next time you are in Louisville, take the tour at Copper & Kings and visit their courtyard Pavilion.  Also, explore

the serpentine walk around the pavilion to access Alex&nder rooftop bar above the distillery.  We were blessed to
